Raim Hakimzoda Farkhadi is well known Russian poet, novelist, playwright, journalist, translator and artist of Uzbekistan. He was born in Samarkand in 1942. The main subjects of his works are environment, protection of nature and general human values. Raim Farkhadi has been widely published since the beginning of the 60s and up to the present day (he is the author of more then 60 books for children and adults). His poem about the death of the Aral Sea, written in the 1960s, served as the basis for a documentary film made by Danish journalists in 2009. Currently Raim Farkhadi is the chief editor of the children’s environmental magazine «SPRING» («Bulokcha”).
